Muscle Building Foods eBook

Bodybuilding Nutrition, Supplement Reviews, Best Muscle Building Foods, and Private Members ForumsFor those seriously interested in learning more about quickly muscle building and burning fat, I have just come across a book which is a must read. It is called "Muscle Building Nutrition."

Written by a respected fitness industry expert, Will Brinks, the book comprehensively (277 pages) covers nutrition and muscle building foods, diets to gain muscle and lose fat, a whole section on supplements, and a whole training section on muscle building techniques. I have managed to get readers of my Best Muscle Building Foods blog FREE sample extracts for Muscle Building Nutrition, and a couple of good little bodybuilding nutrition eBooks...for FREE. Click here to get them now

Will has written for bodybuilding magazines including Muscle Media, MuscleMag International, and Muscle n Fitness.

Will’s area of expertise is nutrition. He believes that athletes are what they eat—big-time. So if you have a poorly designed eating plan, your body probably isn’t in the shape it could or should be in. In the first part of his book, Will explains the nature of anabolic nutrition, and the role that various food groups play in helping a bodybuilder reach his or her muscle-building goals. Focusing on the complex relationship between fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, he talks about the importance of a balanced diet that allows the body to work naturally to get in the best shape
possible...in a language anyone can understand. He explains all the nutrient facts, including how many calories you need, and which foods you should eat and stay away from. He educates bodybuilders on their muscle building nutritional needs and the complex anabolic processes that can rapidly increase muscle mass and reduce fat..

The book is divided into 3 sections...

The first section, “Anabolic Nutrition,” talks about nutritional relationships among food groups, and which ones are most important to those who want to lose fat and build muscle.

“Bodybuilding Supplement Review Guide” is the second section of this book, which offers a comprehensive look at many of the advertised supplements available today. Will knows a lot about supplements. He has spent years researching all the latest products on the market today.

Many bodybuilders use one or more of these products to try and build lean muscle mass. Creatine and whey protein are actually muscle building foods.

This part of the ebook is a goldmine of information. Where else can you find unbiased reviews of the major bodybuilding supplements on the market today? And because Will Brink doesn’t sell any of these products you can read the information knowing that his honest opinion informs
every page. Will takes you through the supplements one by one so you can be a better-informed consumer and know what you’re getting into with each supplement product. And all of the information contained in this section of the book is based on pure scientific fact.

The third section “Mass Gaining Training Programs” adds exercise to nutrition for a thorough approach to building muscle and eliminating fat from your frame. Expert Charles Poliquin, called the “world’s greatest strength coach,” wrote this section. Learn how to adjust your training program to reach your potential for increasing muscle mass and burning unneeded calories. Readers will get a step-by-step approach to making their own personal plan for body building success, based on the strategies and activities described here. Charles tells you how to balance muscle-building exercises with appropriate rest periods so you never overstress your body and yet keep it working to maximum capacity. He demonstrates professional strategies for building lean muscle fast while getting rid of unnecessary body fat.

And as an added bonus, purchase of the book allows you free acces to the special Muscle Building Nutrition Member’s Zone where Will has full supplement reviews for over 300 brand name supplement reviews in the members area. And of course, Will posts frequent updates under “new product updates” in the MBN Member’s Zone, so you will always be in the know when it comes to the latest supplement information. Here you will find a discussion forum, which provides an excellent support system for anyone who wants to ask questions or get advice from more advanced trainees. The forum lets readers link up with other lifters around the world who may have the same questions and concerns, or who have already dealt with these issues, and can pass along some friendly advice.

Fat Burning and Muscle Building Foods

Fat Burning and Muscle Building Foods...Flax seeds and flax seed oil

Carrying on from my last post about fortified eggs which touched upon the benefits of flax seed and essential fatty acids for building muscle...in this post I will go into more detail about flax seed, flax seed oil, and how to use them...because they are not only great for putting on muscle...but also for burning fat.

The use of EFA and flax seed/oil is popular with competitive bodybuilders and is yet another example of the innovative understanding that bodybuilders have for nutrition (that now the general population are becoming aware of). Flax seeds are a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids and also abundant in fibre, lignans, vitamins, minerals and protein. Flax seeds contain both soluble and insoluble fibre and importantly contain a special fibre called mucilage. Mucilage helps stabilize blood sugar levels, protects against bowel cancer and is a natural laxative. Plus, a 100 grams of flax seeds produces 25 grams of protein (4 grams of protein per tablespoon), which is great considering the other nutrients obtained along with this.

Omega-3 fatty acid is sometimes defined as "anti-fat" due to its ability to speed up the metabolic process and aid in fat loss. Omega-3 fatty acid increases the fluidity of cell membranes, increases the uptake of nutrients into the cell and removal of waste from the cell. More efficient cellular function results in an increased rate of fat burning. Whereas, low-fat diets tend to result in poor hormone production which leads to a slower metabolism. Because of this, flaxseed is not only one of the best muscle building foods...but also one of the best fat burning and muscle building foods. See last post for more benefits of flaxseed for bodybuilders.

The body uses about 20 fatty acids to maintain normal function. Our bodies can synthesize all but two, Omega-3 and Omega-6. These two fatty acids must be obtained in proper balance through foods or supplements. Most people typically do not consume enough Omega-3 fatty acids in comparison to Omega-6 fatty acids (current ratio is 1:20, whereas ideal is 1:4 ratio). Moreover, using a (bodybuilding) diet that attempts to reduce fat intake means supplementing with Omega-3 fatty acid is essential.

Flaxseed oil or whole seeds?
From a nutritional standpoint, seeds are the better choice. Most of the nutrients are contained in the flax seed but seeds are also higher in calories, which makes seeds an off-season option. To absorb the oil and nutrients the seeds must be cracked or ground up (use a coffee grinder). You can add the ground up seeds to cereal, salads, protein shakes, rice, or just eat them plain – they have a nutty (but not strong) taste. One needs three times the amount of seeds to get the oil equivalent. The flax seed oil gives you a concentrated source and convenience that may give
using oil the edge for a competitive bodybuilder.

How to use flax seed oil...
Flax seed oil is best taken with other food. Consume one teaspoon of flax seed oil with breakfast, lunch and dinner. This is a moderate dose and should be increased from teaspoon to tablespoon in off-season (3 teaspoons equal 1 tablespoon). Do not be afraid to add Omega-3 fatty acid supplementation to any pre-contest diet. The numerous benefits and fat burning assistance outweighs the calories. Flax seed oil should not be raised to a temperature of more than 120°F/49°C. You need to add flax seed oil to your food after cooking, use as a dressing on salad, added to other liquid drinks, or consumed directly.

Be selective when you purchase flax seed oil. Flax seed oil is readily denatured by oxygen, heat and light. Flax seed oil must be carefully produced, packed under nitrogen in light-proof containers and refrigerated until used (do not buy flax seed oil sold in a glass bottle or on the shelf – get from the refrigerator section in a light-proof, black container). Use as quickly (fresh) as possible. Stay tuned for my next post when I cover how you can get more info on the best fat burning and muscle building foods.

Muscle Building Foods

Muscle building foods-Fortified Eggs:
An exciting development in the functional food area is the fortified egg. Bodybuilders have long known that eggs are a good source of protein...and because of this are a great muscle building food... but eggs can now also be a good source of omega-3 essential fatty acids. Some egg producers are adding flaxseed to the feed of hens. Flax seed is one of the best sources for the essential fatty acid, alpha linolenic acid. Adding omega-3 fatty acids, in the form of flaxseeds, to the diets of hens increases the omega-3 fatty acid content of eggs by over six times that of regular eggs. Eating two fortified eggs may provide an adequate amount of omega-3 fatty acids.

Benefits for bodybuilders

Alpha linolenic acid is important to bodybuilders for:

· Enhancing insulin sensitivity within muscle cells
· Stimulating steroid production
· Systemization of hormones
· Mediating immune response
· Directing endocrine hormones to target cells
· Regulating smooth muscle and autonomic reflexes
· Construction of healthy cell walls
· Transportation of oxygen to body cells
· Keeping saturated fats mobile in the blood stream
· Regulation of nerve transmission
· Serving as the primary energy source for the heart muscle.

Egg producers also add vitamin E to the flaxseed feed to keep it stable. This can cause the vitamin E content of fortified eggs to be as much as eight times higher than that of normal eggs. It is also worthy to note that eggs can taste better with the vitamin E enrichment. Whether you choose normal or fortified eggs...they are both great muscle building foods.
